Hi Yogesh, i m v. glad to get this link from you. Following is my query :

If i wanna do ipo transaction thru my friends demat account (not a valid approach actually) then will he be liable for any taxes apart from the regular trasaction tax and govt. tax, like income tax ??

Hi Swapnil

Yes he will be liable to to tax if he sells the stock within 1 year from the date of purchase.
According to laws, any share if sold before 1 year from date of purchase of stock is
considered as short term investment.

If you hold the stock for more than a year it sis considered as Long term investment making it
tax free investment.

i am holding 50 shares @ 60
after demerger it is showing me in my demat account
50 TELE DATA INFO
25 TELEDATA MARINE SOLUTIONS LTD
25 TELEDATA TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS

is it corret stocks am i holding?

Hi Dev u r correct
Base price for Teledata is 80.80
Now it has hit LC and 1 more LC can follow.
Dont exit and carry stock for another 6 months or so.

Other two stocks will list after a month.
